HISTORY
The Team SportSG Recreation Club (REC Club) was established in 1974 with its home at the former National Stadium alongside the headquarters of the Singapore Sports Council. Then known as the Singapore Sports Council Recreation Club, it provided a common space equipped with a canteen, lounge area, game tables, and other recreational facilities for staff to sit back, relax and bond over food and drink, a game of billiard, or a karaoke session.
In February 2011, the former National Stadium was demolished for reconstruction and the development of a larger precinct - the Singapore Sports Hub. In 2014, the Singapore Sports Council moved to the Singapore Sports Hub upon its completion and rebranded itself as Sport Singapore on 1 April 2014, signifying a new breath of life. Having found its new home alongside Sport Singapore, the REC Club endeavours to be the catalyst for the development of strong identity and camaraderie between its members, so as to enable an environment where the quality of relationships is a core strength and competency of Sport Singapore.
The REC Club supports the well-being of its members by providing an environment where sport, social and cultural activities serve as a platform for relationships to be cultivated and experiences to be forged. The diversity of the REC Club’s offerings mean that there will always be something for everyone. From friendly sporting competitions with our sister agencies and industry partners to cultural celebrations and even cooking and food preparation classes, the REC Club seeks to create a fun and inspiring workplace for staff to support both their professional and personal aspirations. Since Jun 2019, we are once again privileged to have our new REC Club Corner nestled within the SportSG office – Let’s together build a home for all to enjoy.

Sport Team
The Sport Team actively champions our SportSG core value of #PassionForSport. Join our lunchtime or Sporting Friday games, staff leagues, and top the leaderboard! Get in touch with our 35 convenors of 20 different sports bringing us together organically through sport. Cheer our Team SportSG athletes as they compete in the annual Public Service STAR Games! So don't wait - Just play lah!
Social Team
The Social Team offers bountiful opportunities for us to connect and strengthen our working relationships. From the annual SportSG Anniversary to Group-Led celebrations, let’s create shared memories as #OneTeamSportSG.
House Team
The House Team aspires to build a beautiful HOME for us in SportSG. Wind down and relax with friends at our Rec Club Corner, which is nestled within our SportSG headquarters. As #OneTeamSportSG family, we bring out and celebrate the best in one another!
